Logiealmond Estate shines brightly in business Star Awards

Logiealmond Estate has once again been recognised in the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce Business Star Awards. Following our win in the Excellence in Tourism & Leisure category last year, we have once again been successful in being shortlisted in this, and the Contribution to the Environment Award.

Excellence in Tourism & Leisure Star Award

The Excellence in Tourism & Leisure Award, sponsored by VisionPK, is open to businesses and organisations that can demonstrate measurable success in the field of leisure tourism or associated leisure activities. Entrants have to demonstrate a commitment to growth and success in achieving planned objectives in terms of visitor numbers, turnover, local and national impact. They also have to demonstrate a track record in customer satisfaction and a continued commitment to exceeding customer expectations by providing a unique customer experience.

At Logiealmond Estate we provide every visitor with a superior, personal service tailored to their individual expectations. Our mission is to make our guests’ experience truly memorable whilst they enjoy our newly renovated luxury lodges, farmhouses, cottages and steadings, all with modern amenities for a comfortable stay.

With an investment of £30m owners Sheila and Rod Flavell had a vision to regenerate the once derelict Estate to create a world-class, year-round luxury holiday destination and the opportunity for guests from across the globe to enjoy relaxed, warm Scottish hospitality and to partake in exceptional high-quality driven shoot days in a stunning natural setting.

Following exquisite renovation, five properties were available for self-catering holidays from March 2022. A further six were completed the following September, with another five properties available from May 2024. Two further houses will be completed soon, providing accommodation for a total of 96 guests.

Planning permission is approved for a butchery, farm shop and brewery, and building work is underway on the spa, and to clear a site for an impressive castle wedding venue.

Contribution to the Environment Star Award

The nomination for Contribution to the Environment Award, sponsored by Sidey, reflects our investment in enhancing the Estate which includes improvements in farming, forestry, restoring derelict buildings to create luxury holiday accommodation, and our continuing commitment to becoming a net carbon and off-grid environment.

Logiealmond Estate has a unique natural setting encompassing the best of what the Scottish countryside has to offer with a focus on protecting and enhancing its rich biodiversity and landscape. There is ongoing large-scale replanting of over 300,000 mixed native Scottish broadleaf trees. The Estate is home to a vast number of red-listed birds and the highest number of registered birds in Scotland including a golden eagle, ospreys, red kites, buzzards and has 54 breeding pairs of curlews. We are also restoring peatland areas to enhance carbon capture.

All our properties utilise the latest renewable energy technologies with ground source heat pumps taking natural energy from the earth to provide heat and hot water for all of our holiday and staff accommodation. We have biomass generators and have installed photovoltaics with battery storage for all properties. Thermally efficient insulation makes sure that energy isn’t wasted, and private water supplies allow our properties to be as off-grid as possible. Wood for our woodburning stoves is sourced from the Estate’s forest.

By providing an abundance of natural, economic and social opportunities, Logiealmond Estate is committed to creating a sustainable environment and to eventually becoming carbon neutral. We have created a one-of-a-kind setting which can be enjoyed by visitors all year round.
